Interview with Gold Sponsor, Gorton Studios

1. Tell us about Gorton Studios. What do you do?

Gorton Studios is an award-winning full-service web design and development company. We build user-friendly, owner-friendly, results-oriented websites with Drupal. We also offer expert Drupal consulting and training and are based in the Twin Cities.

We love making websites and we do it well; our work regularly wins web awards and praise from regional and national media.

2. We're super excited for Gorton Studios to be sponsoring DrupalCorn for a second year! Why are you supporting DrupalCorn 2012?

We started using Drupal in 2005 and since then, we've been speaking, sponsoring and attending Drupal events around the world. We give back to the Drupal community with code, money and our time. Drupal has so much opportunity and we're very happy to support DrupalCorn; it's great for Drupal and it's great for our area!

3. Tell us about Backup and Migrate and NodeSquirrel.

Backup and Migrate (http://drupal.org/project/backup_migrate) makes it easy to save snapshots of your Drupal site. Those snapshots work as backups or as a way to get your site running on a different server (like duplicating a live site elsewhere). We wrote it back in 2007 and it's taken off since then; Backup and Migrate is now one of the top 20 Drupal modules with over 150,000 active sites.

NodeSquirrel (http://nodesquirrel.com) is a backup service that extends Backup and Migrate. Backup and Migrate includes the ability to store your backups elsewhere, but doing so requires you to setup and manage another server. NodeSquirrel takes away that pain; it's a paid service that you can setup with just a few clicks so you have a safe place to store your backups.

We're still in open beta, asking people to test and use the service before we launch paid versions. We'd love for DrupalCorn attendees to give it a try and share your feedback!
